Let's Taco 'bout BBQ!

Everyday is a good day for tacos — especially National Margarita Day! Who doesn’t love a refreshing beverage served up with some easy and delicious snacks? Tacos are a fan favorite since you can easily make a variety for your friends and family. So fire up your BBQ Island grill and let’s get to cookin’! Check out some of our favorite taco moves below:

SHRIMP AND FISH TACOS

A classic option is the popular fish taco. Shrimp or tilapia are definite crowd pleasers and are quick and easy to prepare. We marinade ours with oil, vinegar, garlic, cumin, chili powder, pepper, and hot sauce for that extra kick. The shrimp will take about 3 minutes on each side, while the tilapia may take a total of 10 minutes (Pro tip: add the shrimp on a skewer when you throw them on the grill for a no-hassle grilling experience). Drizzle with fresh lemon juice and you’ll have a quick and refreshing grilled treat! We’re pairing these with a classic margarita — your favorite tequila, fresh lime juice, and orange liqueur.

LETTUCE WRAP TACOS

If you’re looking for a lighter option, ditch the tortillas and opt for lettuce. We’re throwing it back to our Carne Asada Lettuce Wrap taco recipe. Whether you choose steak, chicken, or even shrimp, these lettuce wrapped tacos will satisfy your taco cravings without the guilt! We’re cooking up our meat on a Twin Eagles Propane Grill which reaches higher temperatures and distributes heat evenly for a perfect cook every time. We’re keeping things fresh with a Blood Orange margarita. Add a fresh blood orange juice or puree and a splash of agave syrup for a tangy match up!

AL PASTOR TACOS

And we can’t forget the pork. Traeger Grills has an amazing BBQ Al Pastor recipe that will please any taco lover! Topped with a delicious pineapple-pork mixture, you can’t go wrong. Pair your Al Pastor tacos with a mango margarita for a fruity pairing that will make you think it’s summer!

No tacos are complete without toppings! Offer your guests all the essentials: pico de gallo, rice, shredded cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and plenty of hot sauce. Turn things up a notch with a margarita bar of pre-made cocktails so your guests can mix and match their taco and margarita pairings! So drink up and drink responsibly this National Margarita Day — and enjoy those tacos!
