Want to create that delicious smoked flavor but don’t have a BBQ smoker at home? Relax, we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeves to ensure you achieve what seems impossible. With a few extra gadgets and proper wood pellets to fuel your fire, that beautifully smoky wood flavor is attainable with a gas grill.

Smoker Box

Using a gas grill to give your meat a smoky flavor is easy when you have the right tools. Our first suggestion is to pick up a smoker box. Fill it with wood chunks or chips and place it right underneath your cooking grate. A smoker box allows the wood chips to smolder, not flame.

Pellet Smoker

If you want a smokier flavor, BBQ Island grill master JT offers up some helpful advice. “For even more smoke, use wood pellets versus chunks or chips, and put it in the A-MAZE-N pellet smoker for best results.” This nifty device lasts for 9+ hours on a single load, is easy to use, and produces very little heat.

Smoker Tube

This expandable smoke tube really does the trick. It adjusts up to 18’’ for maximum smoke flavor and is compatible with any gas, charcoal or pellet grill. Once lit, the tube provides about 3-5 hours of smoke. Included with your purchase is an 8-lb. bag of smoking pellets to get you well on your way to perfecting hearty wood flavor. To light your pellets, an inexpensive propane torch will work just fine.
