BBQ Island’s 8th Annual Turkey Fest has officially come and gone. This year we had 20 BBQ teams competing for votes in a people’s choice format. Each team prepared their famous Thanksgiving-inspired meals on Green Mountain Jim Bowie Pellet Grills and served samples in hopes that attendees would drop a ticket in their jar (counting as one vote).
If you've been to one of our Turkey Fests in the past, you know the competition gets heated. Contestants lure you into their stations by catching your attention as you walk by and offer you a sample of their finest recipes. Pro tip: Try not to fill up too quickly, as you’ll want to leave room for the next bite.
Along with food sampling, attendees had the chance to win cool prizes and watch a live “How-to” demonstration on smoking a turkey, hosted by a husband-and-wife competitive barbeque team.
